HowToSwiss is built privacy-first. We do not use third-party advertising cookies, we do not track individuals across sites, and we do not sell or share visitor data.

What we store in your browser

We use a minimal set of browser local storage entries — not cookies sent to a server — to make the site usable:

• Canton selection — so pages adapt to your canton between visits.
• Theme preference — light / dark mode.
• Checklist progress — when you tick off items, that progress is saved exclusively in your own browser's localStorage. It is never transmitted to our servers and we cannot see or recover it.

Clearing your browser's site data will reset these preferences and your checklist progress.

Analytics

We use privacy-respecting analytics to understand which pages are read and which tools are used. These analytics do not track individuals, do not build user profiles, and do not set third-party tracking cookies. No data is shared with advertising networks.

No advertising or cross-site tracking

We do not run advertising. We do not embed third-party advertising pixels, retargeting tags, or social-media tracking widgets.

How to clear browser storage

You can clear cookies and local storage for this site at any time from your browser's settings (usually under "Privacy", "Site data" or "Clear browsing data"). Doing so will reset your canton, theme and checklist progress.
