Swiss cities have excellent bike-sharing systems. E-bikes and e-scooters are everywhere. Here's how to get moving on two wheels.

Step by step

  1. 1

PubliBike — the main bike-sharing network

Available in Zurich, Bern, Lausanne, and more. Download the app, register, and unlock bikes at docking stations. Regular bikes and e-bikes available.

  2. 2

    City-specific services

Zurich: Züri Velo (free first 30 min). Geneva: Donkey Republic. Basel: Pick-e-Bike. Check your city's offerings.

  3. 3

    E-scooters

Lime, Tier, and Bird operate in major cities. Download the app, scan the QR code, ride. Typically CHF 1 to unlock + CHF 0.25/min. Park responsibly.

  4. 4

    Longer rentals

For longer stays, consider buying a second-hand bike on tutti.ch or Ricardo. Many cities also have bike cooperatives offering affordable long-term rentals.
